It’s that time of the year again! Fashion’s Night Out Los Angeles is here for another year, bigger and better. The city of Los Angeles has been working very hard together with the Beverly Center and countless of stores across the city to make Fashion’s Night Out at the Beverly Center thee place to be for every fashionista this year.
The 6th floor of the Beverly Center, where Obika Mozzarella Bar stands is being converted into a stage that will serve as platform for the opening ceremony and two full runway shows.
I had a sneak peek at the stage and VIP lounge area while running errands and I am excited at the magnitude of this years event. Among the celebrities who have confirmed attendance are Tarina Tarantino, Kylie Jenner who is the face of the campaign, Francesca Eastwood, Joyful Drake, Romeo Miller and countless others.
Come out and shop, mingle with like minded fashion enthusiast, and of course grab a free drink or two while you shop.
See you tomorrow at the Beverly Center!

I answered a questions about getting started HERE, it gives some tips on what you need to do to get started.
Now to address your first question, I have said before that the plus size modeling industry is still the modeling industry, which means that a lot of industry standards are still in play. For example to be a runway model, ideally you need to be 5’9 - 5’10. For print work 5’8. Now there are always exceptions to the rule, like Kate Moss, who is only about 5’6 or 5’7.
There are other options besides runway modeling. You can look into catalog work, or you can do campaign/product model, think Dove beauty campaign. You can also look into being a beauty model. Plus size model Rosie Mercado started doing beauty modeling.
While the modeling industry has certain standards, I can’t tell you whether or not you have a chance at making a living by modeling. If modeling is something you want to get into I believe if you put the work in, set your mind on it and get on your grind you can do it. Remember there is always an exception to the rule.
I hope my answer was helpful. Best of luck.
Singer and reality TV personality Jenni Rivera is introducing and executive producing her daughter Chiquis new spin off show on Mun2. I had the awesome opportunity to attend the viewing party in Beverly Hills. The party was most definitely a family affair, Jenni Rivera and ex-Dodger hubby Esteban Loaiza were there along with the kids, grandbaby and other Mun2 stars to celebrate, it felt like you were at your auntie’s party. The Riveras were very sweet, humble and beautiful people who just couldn’t contain themselves and the gratitude they have with their fans. Chiquis N Control airs Saturday’s at 3pm/2c on Mun2. Watch Chiquis come of age as she starts a new business an grows into her own, Rivera style.
