Back to Basics at Chaminade Resort & Spa

A couple weeks ago in the midst of planning and getting ready for the Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Conference I received an invitation that was truly godsent. Chaminade Resort & Spa invited me to take part in a tour of their newly renovated spa and spend the night relaxing at their resort. I didn’t think twice before saying yes.

Chaminade Resort & Spa is a certified GREEN, eco-friendly and AAA Four Diamond resort that sits at the top of the Santa Cruz mountains on California’s central coast. I’m from Los Angeles and I live right in the middle of the city around subway stations, traffic, and main streets so the scenic road leading up to the resort was a welcomed change. It smelled like FRESH AIR!

Once I got up to the top I realized the resort itself consists of 11 buildings, a spa, pools, tennis courts, a fitness center, and 3 hiking trails. Not to mention breathtaking views of Monterey Bay and the Santa Cruz Mountains.

After the long trip there I wanted to be comfortable as I took a tour of the spa and previewed their newly added spa treatments.

I wore:
Knit Sweater: Old Navy
Jeans: Anne Klein
Sandals: Courtesy of Fibi & Clo
Purse: Old Navy

Check out some of my instagram pictures of the resort:

I was treated to a complimentary Warm Bamboo Massage (which was heaven after an 8 1/2 hour trip), Blissful Mini Facial and a Cucumber Mint Sore Hands & Feet Treatment with Emminence organic skincare products handmade in Hungary.

The Spa at Chaminade has a steam room, a sauna, a mediation area and an outside patio with a Koi pond, a heated outdoor pool and an area to lounge and sunbathe.

The spa also has it’s own lunch menu so you can lunch outside and enjoy the view.

I received a complimentary bottle of wine as welcome gift which I saved for the end of the night. It was a perfect way to end the day.

I had dinner at one of Chaminades two on site restaurants, Lynwood’s Bar & Grill. They have inside dining as well as an outside dining area with fire pits overlooking the mountains.

The morning before I headed back to LA I enjoyed this beautiful view while I had breakfast at the Sunset Restaurant.

A stay at Chaminade was exactly what I needed to unwind and disconnect enough to relax and clear my mind. Chaminade is surrounded by beauty and you can’t help but feel at peace while you visit. If you’d like to visit you can book a stay here: Book a Stay at Chaminade Resort & Spa

I am absolutely in love with this blog ♥ I am full figured as well, so I really wish everyone could see the beauty we all have!

Everyone will eventually see the beauty but we have to keep showing them.

Thanks for the love!

Love your blog! I'm an LA native/resident. I shop, a lot. We should be shopping bffs! Do you ever shop Mode Plus? I recently went and loved everything I tried on. To the point where I had to walk out or spend my rent money.

L.A Girl High 5!!

I’ve never been to Mode Plus, where is it?

Am I stalking you on twitter, instagram ect yet?? It’s a must if we’re going to be shopping bffs lol

Oh okay cool! Thanks, the one in Bakersfield is actually a pretty good size. But Bakersfield is lame -__-

LOL! I know the feeling when I lived in New Orleans there was only 1 Forever 21 and the plus section was a decent size but it was soo lame and everyone in the city ended up wearing the same thing..thee worst!

Do you know the name of the girl in the post you titled Beauty Stripped Down with that beaded shoulder garment?

Her name is Anabelle Ursulet

I love your blog so much! Can you help me find a new style? I love your style so much. I am a size 22-24.

Hi and thanks for the love!

My advice when trying to switch up your style is think about all the things you’ve always wanted to wear but never did, keep them in mind for when you go shopping. Take a shopping trip and ONLY try on things you normally wouldn’t buy and see what you like see what you feel comfortable in.

If you see outfits that inspire you online and on blogs try to recreate them and make them your own. Start by looking at your closet to see what you can rework. I rebuild my closet every year, I get rid of the disposable stuff, keep the basics and the pieces I can rework and start over.

Experiment and just have fun with it!

Hey Illsay!! Where the plus size Forever21 in LA? Jw haha

Hey hun!!! The Forever 21 I go to for plus sizes is the Beverly Center store. Their plus section is VERY VERY small but the upside is that they rotate merchandise every week so you always find new things. The Forever 21 in Pasadena also has plus sizes but I haven’t been to that one in a while, I should plan a trip lol.

i must say it's so lovely seeing curvey ladies dressing amazingly ! I've never seen outfits look as great as they do on here, i'm going to show all my family this blog!

Yes please share! Tell a friend to tell a friend! xoxo

Who is this beauty, please?

Which picture/girl are you referring to?

I wore this for the 3rd and final day of the LLBLOG conference in Downtown L.A. We’ve had a chilly spring here in L.A so I was happy I finally had a chance to wear these beautiful jeweled sandals that Fibi & Clo sent me.
