Fashion’s Night Out Los Angeles is HERE!

It’s that time of the year again! Fashion’s Night Out Los Angeles is here for another year, bigger and better. The city of Los Angeles has been working very hard together with the Beverly Center and countless of stores across the city to make Fashion’s Night Out at the Beverly Center thee place to be for every fashionista this year.

The 6th floor of the Beverly Center, where Obika Mozzarella Bar stands is being converted into a stage that will serve as platform for the opening ceremony and two full runway shows.

Among the celebrities who have confirmed attendance are Tarina Tarantino, Kylie Jenner who is the face of the campaign, Francesca Eastwood, Joyful Drake, Romeo Miller and countless others.

Come out and shop, mingle with like minded fashion enthusiast, and of course grab a free drink or two while you shop.

Milani’s Website Launch Party

Last Thursday Milani Cosmetics celebrated the launch of their new website with an intimate but very rad party at Geisha Studio in Los Angeles. I of course was in attendance because let me tell you Milani throws awesome parties!
Milani’s new website and social media platform has lookbooks for make up inspiration, their favorite youtube tutorial videos and the site now allows you to shop for everything you need right there and then to complete your favorite looks.

My look for the night: I wanted my eyes and lips to pop with color so I kept everything else simple by just highlighting my face with bronzer and a touch of blush.

I used:
Milani Bronzer XL in ‘Bronze Glow’
Milani Baked Blush in ‘Rose D’Oro’
Milani Runway Lashes Mascara
Milani Liquid Like Eye Liner in ‘Aqua’
And my personal favorite Milani Lipstick in ‘Rose Hip’
Earrings by Nena Soul Fly …You’re Welcome.

There were also complimentary manis + nail art with Milani nailpolish by Miss Handly

I loved the decor at Geisha Studio! I kept taking mental notes for my future place.

I loved loved loved everything! I’m still in a celebratory mood and will be having a Milani giveaway SOON!! So keep checking back for that.

‘Till the next party xoxo

Glamorama Artrageous

Last Friday I attended Macy’s Glamorama Artrageous thanks to the amazing Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Group. It was a night of music, fashion and art all to benefit the fight against HIV/AIDS. In the past 29 years more than $29 million has been raised. Rachel Roy, Armani Jeans, Tracy Reese and Macy’s Impulse line were among the collections shown. Dance groups kept the crowd entertained and hyped up in between the fashion shows. If the dancing wasn’t enough to get everyone pumped up the music group Far East Movement warmed the crowd up for more fashion and the closing of the show with none other than Mr. Cee Lo Green himself! I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.

The event was once again held in Downtown L.A at the Orpheum theater.

Far East Movement

Here’s a treat. PAPI had the gorgeous models come out just like I like them SHIRTLESS.

Cee Lo really brought the house down when he closed the show with new hits and some throwbacks.

As always I keep my eyes open for the thick, curvy fashionistas out. They were also headed to the afterparty.

The after party was held a couple blocks down from the Orpheum theater at the California Market Center.

I was with fellow latina lifestyle blogger Yolanda and the first thing we did was hit up the Patron photo booth. They had such a fun set up and tons of props. Furs, hats, and costume jewelry for you to accessorize your mini photo shoot.

Fabulous ladies enjoying the L.A. Times Bubbly Bar.

I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Miss Angela Rene from Purple Diva Designs before I left the afterparty.

I had a great time and enjoyed the fashion show, the performances and the shirtless men. On a serious note though, the focus and main goal of this event was to continue to raise awareness and help fight HIV/AIDS. Each of us can help fight against HIV/AIDS by doing something as simple as getting tested. I know my status. Do you?

Swagged Out At The 2011 Alma Awards

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to attend the 2011 Alma Awards thanks to Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Group and Backstage Creations. To say I was beyond excited is an understatement. The event called for evening wear and since I don’t get dressed up enough I decided to just have fun with my outfit.

I wore a Ralph Lauren dress and Steve Madden gold glitter pumps. I had actually worn this dress to a friends wedding earlier this year and I just jumped at the chance to wear it again.
(Forgive me for the low quality pictures of my outfit but as usual I was rushing because I was running pretty late. The second picture is actually the mirror reflection but I thought the angle worked.)

When I got to the Santa Monica Civic Center someone was waiting for me with my press badge to escort me backstage so unfortunately I couldn’t watch the red carpet. Once backstage I was able to take a tour of the celebrity gifting suite created by Backstage Creations. There was a small line outside the door when I got there (yes they had some nice goodies!) I was taken around the gift suite to each individual table. The gifting suite was bustling with foot traffic but once you got to the back of the room there was an area that just seemed so calm almost a separate entity from the front of the room. It was an area designed by Donna Livingston Design for celebrities to relax while they were presented with goodies.

Speaking of goodies let’s move on to that. Here are some of my goodies:

The beautiful fabric you see in the picture is courtesy of Los Angeles based designer Miguel Torres. It is part of his 2012 ready to wear collection. The pieces DO NOT HAVE SIZES and can be worn multiple ways for maximum usage. Many of the other curvy full figured vendors were wearing them each in different ways and I have to say I can’t wait to play around and find more creative ways to wear mine. Jessica Alba selected a couple of these for herself including the leopard print one so did Alexa Vega. Here are some examples:

These are the BiGR Audio headphones. They have collaborated with brands such as Hellz Bellz, Crooks & Castles, and Black Scale. Each pair comes in a laser engraved bamboo box. The folks at BiGR Audio were nice enough to let me pick whichever style I wanted and I of course had to pic the Hellz Bellz pair because I love me some Hellz Bellz and because the engraving on the box is just so rad and feminine. Jessica Alba, Cheech Marin, Constance Marie and Danny Trejo (who was very nice and very humble) all picked up the Black Scale pair to take home.
Aside from the goodies mentioned above celebrities were gifted big blue Tiffany’s boxes which I know were a celeb fave as well as leather bags and a variety of eyewear provided by Marchon. Celebrities also took home fragrances by Shakira and Antonio Banderas as well as a copy of Eva Longoria’s cookbook.

This is what the it looked like once I came out of the gifting suite. By this time the show was close to finishing up.
And I want to say THANK YOU ALL who are reading this and sharing in my experiences with me. I love you all. Oh and don’t forget to watch the 2011 Alma Awards on NBC Friday Sept. 16 at 8/7c

XOXO

Fashion’s Night Out 2011

It’s that time of year again and Fashion’s Night Out kicked off New York fashion week as well as the official arrival of Fall. In Los Angeles the event kicked off with the opening ceremony at the Beverly Center. Celebrities, fashionistas, and industry insiders all came out to celebrate along with crowds of shoppers and onlookers. The Beverly Center staged two major fashion shows. I was in attendance representing Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Group and of course Full Figured Potential. Check out the pictures below:

I wore H&M and my shoes were Chinese Laundry.

With my fellow Latina Lifestyle Group bloggers Adriana from Palette2Palate and Candy from Curves Ahead MakeUp

Finding our seats before the show started. Resident photographer here at Full Figured Potential Dan opted for a birds eye view of the event.

Several cast members of the show Glee were in attendance.

It was a fun show. There was a lot of color, beautiful reds and browns as well as stunning classic black pieces. One particular 70’s inspired wide legged black jumpsuit took my breath away. Sigh.

The festivities were On!

Curvy fashionistas out enjoying Fashion’s Night Out.

I ended my night at the Aveda party. They had drinks and chocolate fondue and were doing red carpet hair and make up touch ups.

The beautiful and super sweet Maxine from Vanity Girl Hollywood was at Aveda. It was great seeing her again.

xoxo
